Christmas Tree!

It looks nice with the red curtains too!

Isn't it pretty!

Doing some more serious cutting!

My turn cutting the tree in the house.

Yeah, even after cutting a lot of it off, its still too big!

Me with the tree.

Look how tall the thing was!

Big tree!

Eric with the tree by the truck!

He is getting it back up the hill after its roll!

Eric cutting down the tree

So the day after Thanksgiving, Eric and I set out to go cut a Christmas tree. We borrowed a truck, and its transmission gave out before we got up the mountain or hill where we were going. We had to walk back here, (not too far) to tell the business manager here that one of the school's trucks was broken. Then someone else lended us a truck and we got to where the nice trees were. I saw one almost right away that I liked, and Eric thought it looked good too. It was kinda on an incline, so when Eric cut it down, it rolled down the hill. Eric had to drag it back. It was heavy too! When Eric got it to the truck, we realized that it was REALLY big!!! Probably too big for our living room's ceiling! Ha Ha! We got it back here, and drug it upstairs. Eric had to cut a good bit of the top and bottom off of the tree to get it to fit! It still reaches up to our ceiling, and is really pretty! We went to town that night and got lights and Christmas ornaments, and started decorating it. It is so pretty! What a lovey, BIG first Christmas tree! It is also the first live Christmas tree I have ever had! I love it! My husband made a nice tree stand for it too. He is great!

  1. Why! It's very pretty indeed! It IS big! We've had to crop some of our trees too in past years, and found that just the right hight for us is a little higher than my dad. :)
Your first real tree? How thrilling! Real ones are my favorite!. . . we have a fake one this year, but we might still get a very small, real one. :)
    Merry Christmas!

  2. Hee, hee! That's funny! Yeah, trees always look way bigger as soon as you try to get them into the house! (we've had some interesting experiences too!)

But yours is beautiful! You've really never had a tree before? They're so festive!
